Rattray's Marlin Flake is a traditional English pipe tobacco that has been produced for over 100 years. The original recipe from the 1920s has only been slightly modified to preserve the unique character of this tobacco.

Composition and taste

The Marlin Flake consists of a blend of dark Virginias, black Cavendish and a pinch of Perique. This balanced composition provides a strong, full-bodied taste with a pleasant spiciness. Typical flavours are brown bread, dark chocolate, whisky, walnut and sultanas. The Perique gives the smoke a slightly peppery note. Although the tobacco has a distinct aroma, the Kasing treatment does not mask the original tobacco flavour. Lovers of natural, unflavoured tobaccos will appreciate the Marlin Flake.

Rattray's Marlin Flake has the traditional shape of the English flake cut. The long dark brown tobacco leaves have been pressed into large flakes that can be easily shaped into the desired form.
